N.H. Fairbrother 113 v West IndiesBack to boards

Neil Fairbrother got his name up on the Lord’s Limited-overs honours boards by virtue of a man of the match performance versus West Indies in 1991.

Coming into the 3rd ODI at Lord’s England had already won the series and were 2-0 up. England won the toss and elected to field in this encounter. West Indies managed a total of 264-9 in 55 overs on the back of Gus Logie’s innings of 82 of 99 balls.

In reply England would go on to chase down the total with 9 overs to spare and winning the series 3-0. Thanks to an innings of 113 runs of 109 balls from Fairbrother which included him smashing the might West Indian bowling attack for 10 fours and 2 sixes. He was well supported by Graeme Hick who ended up not out on 86.
