Who We Are

Throughout each year, we recruit for both permanent positions, that drive the successful activities of the Club and the operations at Lord’s, as well as seasonal-based casual roles, that play a crucial role in delivering great cricket experiences for all.

These are the areas of the Club that help play a fundmental part in making MCC the finest cricket club in the world and help continue to uphold Lord's status as the Home of Cricket.

The IT team is here to make everyone else’s life easier, be they Members, visitors, staff, broadcasters, players or officials.

In many ways we are the “glue” of the entire organisation - our business systems, data flows and core infrastructure bind the entire workings of MCC together.

We are on a crusade to adopt modern platforms, systems and practices across the whole of MCC and make it the best-in-class sports venue and Club in the world for digital and technology enablement. We are a small team doing very interesting and challenging work – but always with a smile and a can-do attitude.

The HR team’s main aim is making MCC a great and inclusive place to work. We support the Club with a wide range of areas such as employee relations, performance management, engagement, recruitment and wellbeing. We are generalists who are continually building new initiatives to support all our staff to develop and have the best end-to-end employee experience.

We work closely with all teams at the Club to keep our staff engaged, motivated and fully supported on all people related matters.

A versatile team given one day is never the same as another.  It has to be as MCC is not only a cricket club and International Cricket Ground, but also runs a myriad of businesses ranging from Retail, Events & Experiences, a Museum and Community Programmes to a Pub.

One day may involve negotiating a high value commercial partnership or supplier agreement before protecting the Club’s intellectual property rights and then ensuring the Club is compliant with data protection.

The team supports executives across the Club’s departments to make informed decisions, whilst ensuring that the Club’s contractual, regulatory and legal risks are minimised and a first-class reputation preserved.

The Finance and Payroll team is focused on supporting the Club in meeting its short and long-term financial objectives, ensuring the annual budgeting process is rigorous and that costs are appropriately controlled and approved.  The team also has one eye on the future, maintaining long term financial projections to support the future development of Lord’s.

The Payroll team ensures over 200 permanent staff and up to 1,500 casual staff (during the season) are paid accurately each month. The Catering Finance team ensures the tills and stock systems are working effectively, supporting the overall team in effective operations on major match days and during the year.

A fast-paced team with numerous different facets, the Marketing and Communications department is responsible for being the bridge between the Club and the public, communicating through a range of different channels with the aim of driving brand awareness, increasing our global reputation for working for the good of the game, generating sales across commercial areas and match day tickets as well as general promotion of the Club’s activities both operationally and at Lord’s.

The Marketing and Communications team, with members focused on Marketing, Communications, Digital and Design/brand, oversees all official communication from the Club, including via the media, membership and customer communications, and social/digital media.

The team is busy and determined, but also friendly and sociable, with everyone pulling towards the same goal of upholding MCC’s and Lord’s strong reputation.

The Heritage & Collections team preserves, displays and develops MCC’s unique collections.

We stage an ever-changing programme of themed exhibitions in the MCC Museum, display fine artwork in the Pavilion – including new commissions – run a varied events programme for Members, offer world-class research facilities in our Library and Archive and add value to many other functions at Lord’s.

At Lord’s, heritage isn’t just something we do, it’s an essential part of who we are.

The majority of our matches are against schools, but MCC also plays clubs, universities and representative sides, in most formats of the game from The Hundred, T20s, and 50 over cricket.

We want to help cricket develop and thrive, whether it’s playing on a school field in England or going to less established cricketing nations on tour. Wherever they are, when a cricketer plays for MCC, it’s not about winning at all costs, it’s about playing the game in the right way making new friends and enjoying themselves.

As well as managing matches and liaising with players, officials and cricket clubs, we also manage he process for good club cricketers to jump the wait for MCC Membership by ‘playing their way in’ as a Playing Member.
