The ICC World Test Championship Final comes to Lord’s

The final is the ultimate Test between the two top sides in the last two years of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. The two teams will contest the Final, scheduled as a five-day match, starting on Wednesday 11 June. There is also a Reserve Day scheduled, to maximise the chances of a result being achieved, should poor weather intervene.

South Africa became the first side to secure their spot at Lord's thanks to a thrilling victory over Pakistan in their Boxing Day Test Match.

That victory saw the Proteas secure their spot in the World Test Championship Final, barring any subsequent points deductions, for the first time and comes on the back of a seven wins in their last 11 matches.

The identity of the other team contesting the final is still unknown, however.

Defending champions Australia are currently favourites with one Test Match remaining in their fascinating head-to-head series with India down under, with both teams still in with a chance of making it to Lord’s.

With still plenty of cricket to be played, Sri Lanka are the other team still in the mix to lift the World Test Championship trophy.
