Jos Buttler hit the fastest England one-day international century when he scored 121 off just 74 balls in the summer of 2014 v Sri Lanka.

After Sri Lanka had posted a total of 300/9 off their 50 overs, England were 111-5 when Buttler entered the hallowed turf and was on blistering form.

His hundred came off just 61 balls, as England looked to try and close on Sri Lanka’s score, with 12 needed off the final over.

However, was comfortably run out chasing an impossible single off the fourth ball during the final over as Lasith Malinga limited England to four runs to secure victory.

Buttler, despite being on the losing side, was voted man of the match with his total of 121 runs seeing him hit 11 fours and 4 sixes.
