A.M. Fernando 5-102 v EnglandBack to boards

Asistha Fernando became the first Sri Lankan player to write his name on the Honours Board since 2014 - and first bowler in a Test since 1991 - thanks to a five wicket-haul against England in the summer of 2024.

Having put England into bat on Day One, Fernando picked up his fifth wicket and England's last before lunch on Day Two with the wicket of Olly Stone for 15.

Fernando bowled supremely well throughout England's innings, picking up the crucial wickets of Ollie Pope and Harry Brook before seeing off England's tail with the final three wickets - including the prized scalp of century maker Gus Atkinson.

His final figures of 5 for 102 saw Fernando etch his place in Lord's history, joining Rumesh Ratnayake as the only Sri Lankan bowler to take five wickets in a Test match at Lord's.
