A. Flintoff 123 v West IndiesBack to boards

Andrew Flintoff scored his first Lord’s one-day international hundred when he hit 123 during England’s defeat to West Indies in the NatWest Series.

Entering the crease with England 54-3, Flintoff began to cause a number of problems for the West Indies bowling attack alongside Sir Andrew Strauss.

Their partnership of 226 saw Strauss hit 100 off 116 balls and Flintoff 123 off 104, before the latter was dismissed with England now totalling 280-4.

Flintoff’s sublime innings saw him hit eight fours and an impressive seven sixes, to score his second century in a row for his country.

Despite the all-rounder’s efforts with the bat, England still came out second best, with Chris Gayle scoring 132* to guide West Indies to a seven-wicket victory with five balls remaining.
