Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Majestic Wine, which has become the official wine and spirits supplier at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
MCC is resuming its relationship with Majestic following a successful seven-year partnership from 2012 to 2019. This exciting new deal will bring significant benefits to both MCC Members and the general public who visit Lord’s each year.
Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, operating more than 200 stores across England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey, as well as fast-growing online and on-trade supply businesses. The company prides itself on its team of more than 1,000 highly-qualified, expert colleagues, all of whom are trained through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Majestic was acquired by Fortress Investment Group in December 2019 following its split from Naked Wines plc, and has since opened 22 new stores, acquired wine bar business Vagabond and invested heavily in the growth of its on-trade specialist arm – which was voted On-Trade Supplier of the Year 2024 by The Drinks Business.
As well as supplying all wine and spirits in the Ground, Majestic will take over the Wine Bar behind the Warner Stand and provide MCC’s own-label wine and champagne products. Majestic will also join the MCC Extras Affiliates programme that has a host of offers and discounts for Members from a range of companies associated with Lord’s and MCC.
Alongside the announcement made in December 2024 that BrewDog will be the official beer supplier at Lord’s, this new partnership adds to the already significant enhancement of our beverage customer offering, with new and innovative drinks brands and a larger range of alcoholic and low and no-alcohol drinks available at the Ground.
Andy Muggleton, MCC Commercial Director, commented: “Our goal is to ensure that every aspect of our Members and other visitors experience at Lord’s is as enjoyable as we can make it, from our exceptional customer service, to the unrivalled match play experience, to the world class food and drink that tops off a perfect day at the cricket. We’re delighted to be back in partnership with Majestic who I know share this goal and we look forward to seeing the Majestic offering being enjoyed by all.”
John Colley, CEO, Majestic, added: “Lord’s Cricket Ground is an iconic sporting stadium recognised around the world, so we are excited to once again be offering our award-winning wines and spirits to visitors and MCC Members. Our ambition is to establish Majestic Commercial among the UK’s largest and most trusted wine suppliers to the on-trade and hospitality sectors, and this partnership with MCC illustrates the excellent progress we are making on that growth journey.”
