The final is the ultimate Test between the two top sides in the last two years of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. The two teams will contest the Final, scheduled as a five-day match, starting on Wednesday 11 June. There is also a Reserve Day scheduled, to maximise the chances of a result being achieved, should poor weather intervene.

South Africa became the first side to secure their spot at Lord's thanks to a thrilling victory over Pakistan in their Boxing Day Test Match.

That victory saw the Proteas secure their spot in the World Test Championship Final, barring any subsequent points deductions, for the first time and comes on the back of a seven wins in their last 11 matches.

South Africa will be joined in the final by the defending champions, Australia.

Their 3-1 series victory in the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India means it is Australia who will have the chance to retain their World Test Championship crown.
