Match Day FAQs

Lord's is the only international cricket venue in the world where spectators can bring alcohol into the ground.

For Vitality Blast matches, alcohol may only be brought into Lord's by MCC & Middlesex Members and their guests, as well as Debenture Holders and their guests.

For matches in The Hundred, ticket holders are not permitted to bring in any alcoholic drinks to the Ground (which is a variation to the MCC Ground Regulations). If you are an MCC Member or Debenture Holder you may still bring alcohol into the Ground but please enter via the Grace Gate.

For all other matches, spectators may bring alcoholic drinks into the Ground in one of the following descriptions and quantities:

(i) one bottle of wine or Champagne (max. 750ml); or (ii) two cans/bottles of beer/cider (max. 500ml each); or (iii) two cans of premixed aperitifs (max. 330ml each).

Bottles of spirits or fortified wines will not be allowed into the Ground or amounts of alcohol in excess of the above limits. No alcohol can be brought into Lord's upon readmission.

MCC reserves the right to confiscate any quantity of alcohol from any spectator.

Yes, you can bring your own food into the Ground for all matches.

It is also possible to order, one of our exclusive Made In Oldstead picnic hampers created by Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks. Orders must be made at least 72 hours prior to the match day and you can collect it at the Ground on the day of your visit.

Find out more and order by clicking here.

The minimum standard of dress required to enter the Upper Mound Stand, and the Debenture areas of both the Compton Stand Balcony and Edrich Stand Balcony is smart casual.

Jackets are not required, but gentlemen must wear collared shirts (even when a collared sweater or jacket is worn on top) at all times in the stand. Trousers and shorts must be tailored, although denim is acceptable.

Please note, flip-flops and torn, ripped or unclean clothing are not permitted.

Debenture Holders sitting in the Upper Mound Stand are encouraged to use the Bicentenary Gate on St. John’s Wood Road to enter the Ground. This Gate is for the exclusive use of Debenture Holders and Hospitality guests.

Debenture Holders sitting in the Upper Grand Stand are encouraged to use the Wellington Place Gate, located next to the North Gate. This Gate is for the exclusive use of Debenture Holders, MCC Members and Hospitality guests. Please note that it is unlikely that this gate will be in use for short format fixtures, such as Middlesex T20s or The Hundred.

Debenture Holders sitting in the Compton and Edrich Stands are encouraged to use the Wellington Place Gate or Heyhoe Flint Gate, located on St. John’s Wood Road. Should this gate be busy, you may wish to consider using the Bicentenary Gate, located further down St. John’s Wood Road.

Please note that gate information specific to your seat(s) can be found on your match ticket(s).

We know that items can get misplaced from time to time and we will do our very best to reunite missing items with their rightful owner.
Please use the form below to report any items you have lost on your visit to Lord’s.

LOST PROPERTY

Please note, MCC retain lost property in most cases until the end of the match season, the only exception’s being bank cards which are destroyed if not claimed within three days of them being handed to us.
Foodstuffs / perishable items and those that cannot safely be stored will also be disposed of at the discretion of the Head Steward’s Office.

All items of property that remain unclaimed at the end of the cricket season will be disposed of and either passed to charity or recycled where possible.

MCC shall not be liable for any injury whatsoever to any visitor, nor for any loss or damage to or theft of their respective property howsoever such injury, loss or damage may be caused, save for where the law provides otherwise.

We operate a scan-out system for all matches at Lord's which allows ticket-holders to leave and re-enter the Ground.

On leaving the Ground, you will need to scan your ticket out in order for it to be successfully rescanned upon your return.

No alcohol can be brought into Lord's upon readmission.

The Ground gets very full on major match days and we suggest you avoid bringing large luggage items with you. You will need to keep your bags with you at your seat at all times.

For the security of everyone, we search all bags coming into the Ground on major match days.

Debenture FAQs

Each Debenture will give its holder the right to purchase one ticket for each day of the following cricket matches held at Lord’s during the Ticket Rights Period.

- each scheduled Test Match;
- each scheduled One-Day International;
- each scheduled International Twenty20 Match;
- each scheduled Middlesex Twenty20 Match; and
- each scheduled The Hundred Match,

and any other scheduled cricket match designated as a Debenture Match by the MCC Committee.

Structuring the Debentures as loans repayable after 75-years (as opposed to offering the Debentures for an equivalent non-repayable capital payment) has financial benefits for the Club. You should note that the loan will not attract any interest (or dividend).

This, combined with the 75-year term, means that the “real” value of the repayment of the loan will be severely eroded by the effects of inflation.

No. Making Debentures transferable would involve considerable extra expense to comply with the requirements of the Prospectus Regulation Rules of the FCA, which currently govern the offers of transferable securities to the public.

All current Debenture Schemes Ticket Rights Periods are due to expire at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Assuming the Price for their Debentures has been paid in full, Debenture Holders will have priority in subscribing for any succeeding issues of Debentures on the terms then offered. As the loan element of the new Debentures will not be repaid at the end of the Ticket Rights Period, another payment for the succeeding issue of Debentures will be required at that time.

No. The holding of a Debenture will not mean that the Debenture Holder is a Member of MCC. Applicants should also note that membership of any club associated with Debentures does not confer membership of MCC.
