I hope you and your family are safe and well during this difficult time.
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and in the interests of safety of all our staff and visitors, Lord’s is currently closed, as it has been for a number of weeks.
This means that all public facilities at the Ground are unavailable and all events and activities have been cancelled or postponed until at least 1 July 2020.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed that no professional cricket will be played in England and Wales until at least that date. The season remains subject to ongoing advice from government and health experts, and continued consultation with all broadcast partners to determine the optimum way to fulfil fixtures both domestically and internationally.
Therefore the Test match between England and West Indies that was due to be played from 25-29 June at Lord’s will now be rescheduled to another date. The Vitality Blast T20 tournament, which has five matches at Lord’s during this period as well as the match timetabled for 2 July, will also be rescheduled by the ECB to a time later this year, when it is safe to do so.
All those affected by these postponement or cancellations will be communicated to directly.
The Club will make a decision regarding reopening Lord’s in due course and with continued reference to the advice of the UK Government, Public Health England and the ECB.
MCC is sorry to bring you this news and for any inconvenience it may cause you. We thank you for your continued support and understanding of the situation and look forward to welcoming you the Home of Cricket when it is safe to do so.
Yours sincerely,
Guy Lavender
