These dates follow the earlier announcement of England’s matches at the Home of Cricket: Test Matches against West Indies and Pakistan, respectively, and a One-Day International against Australia.
Demand for tickets is expected to be high for Middlesex’s five Vitality Blast South Group matches, as well as for the inaugural edition of The Hundred, which will see London Spirit playing four home group matches at Lord’s.
The first ball of the summer at Lord’s is set to be bowled on Sunday 12th April when Middlesex take on Worcestershire in the County Championship, and Middlesex will play six Championship games at the Home of Cricket over the course of the 2020 season.
White ball cricket gets underway in St. John’s Wood when Middlesex host Gloucestershire on Sunday 31st May in the Vitality Blast, with Hampshire, Sussex Sharks, Kent Spitfires and Surrey completing the line-up of Middlesex’s opponents in the T20 format.The Hundred – ECB’s new short-format competition – makes its debut next summer and London Spirit will play their first ever home match at Lord’s on Tuesday 21st July, against Trent Rockets.
Two days later the Ground will host a double-header, as both the men’s and women’s teams from London Spirit and opponents Northern Superchargers will be in action on the same day.Nepal will visit Lord’s to face MCC on Monday 24th August. The Club has recently toured Nepal and their national side has been awarded ODI status since their last visit to Lord’s in 2016.
This year’s tour was the first of three ‘Legacy Tours’ to the country, which are supported by the MCC Foundation and aimed at improving provision for cricket right through from grassroots level to the national structure.
There’s also room for some more traditional fixtures, such as The Cricketer National Village Cup Final and the Inter-Services T20 Tournament.
The MCC Universities Challenge Final will be back after a year off and the National Club Championship Final, held at Lord’s in 2019 for the first time since 2008, continues its welcome return at the Home of Cricket.
