The wicket-keeper’s second spot on the Honours Boards in one summer was a crucial innings that helped England gain a big lead heading towards the close of play on day four.
The hosts were 62/5 when Prior came to the crease and his composed hundred off 120 balls in a unbeaten partnership of 162 with Stuart Broad was instrumental in ensuring England’s victory during the Test at Lord’s.
Prior’s century included five fours and a six in an innings that lasted 196 minutes.
