MCC Community Cricket Heroes

CALLING ALL COMMUNITY CRICKET HEROES

We’re looking to recognise and thank those who’ve gone the extra mile for community cricket. Nominate your unsung hero today for the chance to spend a day in the President's Suite at Lord's this summer.

Launched last year, MCC’s Community Cricket Heroes campaign, run in partnership with The Cricketer magazine, saw 11 heroes of grassroots cricket welcomed to Lord’s last June for the first day of the England v Ireland Men’s Test match, watching on from the prestigious President’s Suite.

Back for 2024, MCC is seeking to celebrate and reward another XI of unsung cricketing heroes from across the country by inviting them to spend a day of either the England v Sri Lanka men’s Test match or the England v Australia men’s ODI in hospitality at Lord’s.

A panel chaired by former England international and MCC Chair of Cricket, Claire Taylor and including Arfan Akram, Mike Gatting, Dr Sarah Fane, and one of last year’s winners, Lachlan Smith, shall review entries and agree an XI of winners.

Nominations are open now, so fill in the form below to nominate your Community Cricket Hero to give them the chance of watching a day of an England international as a VIP in the President’s Suite at Lord’s.

Entries close at midday on Tuesday 16 July.

Guidance for entries

The panel will be looking for nominations who work hard to make a demonstrable positive difference to their community through grassroots cricket, from coaches to ground staff and administrators, and anything in between.

Ideal candidates are those that volunteer their own time and go above and beyond to create a fun cricketing atmosphere that is enjoyable for all.

If you wish to nominate a Community Cricket Hero, please fill in the form below.
